Indie® + Claude: The Dev Tool You’ve Been Asking For

Our long-awaited MCP (Model Communication Protocol) integration is now live, giving you direct access to Indie® tools inside Claude.

If you already have a collection of trading indicators written in Pine Script or another language — there's now a faster way to bring them into Indie®. We’ve integrated Indie with Claude via our new SSE MCP Server, so you can use Claude  as your personal code converter, writer, and reviewer — directly inside your chat window.

Whether you're rebuilding custom tools or exploring Indie for the first time, this setup removes the friction between your ideas and working code.

What you can do with it

Claude now understands Indie syntax and platform logic. Just ask — and get results.

✍️Write full indicators from scratch

Examples of prompts you can try:

  • “Create a volume oscillator that highlights spikes above VWAP”
  • “Build an indicator that colors candles based on RSI slope”
  • “Make a range breakout indicator that alerts on high-volume expansion”

🔁 Convert from other languages

Try these conversion-style prompts with your code:

  • “Rewrite this RSI divergence detector into Indie”
  • “Convert this EMA crossover + ATR filter strategy into Indie”
  • “Transform this Heikin-Ashi trend script into an Indie oscillator”

🧠 Explain how something works

Use Claude to break down code behavior:

  • “What does this indicator do, and how can I make it repaint-safe?”
  • “Explain how this logic detects consolidations vs trends”

🛠️ Validate and fix your logic

Ask for feedback and improvement suggestions:

  • “Check this Indie script and show me what’s wrong”
  • “Suggest best practices for optimizing this code”

Getting started in minutes

You can now skip manual setup — just connect via Claude’s native integration menu.

Prompt Engineering Tips

LLMs are powerful — but they work best with clear instructions. Try this:

✏️ Prompt rewrite loop

  1. Start with a freeform request:
  2. “Detect trend exhaustion using RSI and ADX.”
  3. Then ask Claude:
  4. “Rewrite this as a detailed Indie prompt.”
  5. Refine the result and run it again.

You can also generate the prompt first:
“Here’s what I want to build. Write a clean prompt for it before writing any code.”

Prompt Templates in MCP

The MCP server supports reusable Prompts and Resources — so you can build your own custom instruction set.
These templates can help Claude produce more consistent output across complex workflows.

We’ll soon be sharing prebuilt prompt templates for:

  • Code conversion (e.g. Pine → Indie)
  • Strategy explanation
  • Indicator scaffolding
  • Best practices

You can always find the latest updates and setup instructions in our guide.
